French pedi with rhinestone flowers

Was actually intending to do pedi yesterday but spent too much time on the star burst effect thing. Anyway, just did this to my feet. Nude and white both from The Face Shop. Used lower grade non-Swarovski rhinestones.
Please pardon my ugly, ugly toes.

Metallic Prune

Found out from the forum today that Loreal had came out with a limited edition nail polish that is supposed to have this magnetic effect. After you apply a layer of the polish on your nail, just place your nail near the magnet provided and a star burst design will appear. I saw some pictures of the effect and was very, very excited about it. Apparently, Lancome already had this product some time ago and it was limited edition as well. Anyway, I flew down to Watsons and bought all 3 colors available.

There's Copper, Metallic Grey and Metallic Prune. The grey and prune look almost the same from the bottle.
I was having very high hopes for these polishes that's why I bought all 3 at one shot. It's not exactly cheap. They cost $12.90 each. More than the price of OPI.
However, I was rather disappointed with the results. The star burst effect is not really very obvious and it does not appear every single time. Also, I just cannot get the star burst effect to appear on the copper shade. Only the prune shade work slightly better.

This is how it looks without flash
And with flash
See, I couldn't really get the effect to appear on my last finger. And can you believe that I took much longer to get this set of nails done as compared to doing other designs and sticking crystals? I'm regretting a little on this impulse buy. Maybe I shall practise a few more times. Or am I doing something wrong? Anyone knows how to make the effect more obvious?

New background

I would like to check with all readers if this background is fine.

Is it hard to read? Is the text color alright?

Please, please leave me a shout or comment or anything if you think that anything needs to be changed or if I should revert it back to what it used to be.

Thanks a million!!

Blingnification #8

I was given an 'assignment' by my neighbour. 'Bling it', he said.

My 'assignment'

My completed 'assignment'

The actual thing is really, really bling! I almost went blind, seriously. Around 1400 crystals were used in this 'assignment'.

Milky brown and pearls

I'm not too sure how to describe this color. It's too dark to be called nude and too light to be called brown. Let's just call it milky brown.
Milky brown from The Face Shop. Crystals from Swarovski and decorated with pearls.

Pink with Silver slanted french

Light pink from The Face Shop. Silver glitters from Canmake and silver lines created with Art Club Fine Silver Glitters. For once, no blings!

Purchases #11 : Polish from Face Shop

Bought some new colors as well as replenish my white shade from The Face Shop. Had wanted to get a few bottles of OPIs but I just cannot decide on the colors! Guess I shall just stick to The Face Shop for the time being. Since they are of smaller bottles, I will finish them up faster, which means I can buy new ones sooner! Yeah!
